Naval Pilots Passing Out Parade in INS Rajali, Arakkonam, 17 Officers Awarded Coveted Golden Wings

Chennai, 08 December(City Times): Naval Pilots Passing Out Parade: The skies above INS Rajali, Arakkonam echoed with pride as the 101st Helicopter Conversion Course and the 03rd Basic Helicopter Conversion Course completed their training journey. The Passing Out Parade, held on December 8, 2023, was a spectacle of dedication and achievement.

Golden Wings Soar at Passing Out Parade

Under the watchful eyes of Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command, 17 officers were bestowed with the coveted ‘Golden Wings.’ These wings, a symbol of triumph, marked the end of a rigorous 21-week training program at the Helicopter Training School (INAS 561). The parade celebrated not just the completion of training but also the beginning of a new chapter as helicopter pilots in the esteemed Indian Navy.

Top Honors and Trophies of Naval Pilots Passing Out Parade:

Lt PV Dheeraj Varma soared to new heights, earning the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command Rolling Trophy for standing first in the Order of Merit in Flying. Lt Ravi Prakash clinched the Sub Lieutenant Kunte Memorial Book Prize for leading in Ground Subjects, while SLt Kamal Joshi secured the best in Flying Rolling Trophy. The overall standout performer, Lt Nishant K Vishwakarma, took home The Governor of Kerala Rolling Trophy, claiming the first position in the Overall Order of Merit.

Helicopter Training School Legacy of Excellence

The legacy of excellence at the Helicopter Training School continues, having successfully trained 828 pilots from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and friendly foreign nations. The INS Rajali, under the capable command of Commodore Kapil Mehta, and INAS 561, led by Captain Pranay Kumar Pandey, have nurtured and shaped these aspiring aviators.
