Union Defence Minister Commences Celebrations of India’s Rich Military Culture and Heritage (Indian Military Heritage Festival)
New Delhi, Oct 21 (City Times): (Indian Military Heritage Festival): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh marked the commencement of the first-ever Indian Military Heritage Festival in a grand inauguration ceremony held in the capital on Saturday. The two-day festival aims to pay tribute to India’s multifaceted military culture and heritage that has evolved over the centuries, with a diverse array of activities, including conversations, art, dance, drama, storytelling, and exhibitions.
This unique festival will facilitate a deeper understanding of India’s rich military history through panel discussions led by renowned scholars, practitioners, and both serving and retired officers. The event witnessed the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) Lt Gen JP Mathew, and Vice Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh.
Promoting Indigenous Discourse: ‘Project Udbhav’ Unveiled
During the festival, the Defence Minister unveiled ‘Project Udbhav,’ a collaborative initiative between the Indian Army and the United Service Institution of India. This project aims to foster indigenous discourse by exploring and integrating India’s ancient strategic wisdom into contemporary military endeavors.
Speaking to the press, Rajnath Singh emphasized that the Indian Military Heritage Festival serves as a platform to showcase the unwavering courage and invaluable contributions of the Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation over the past few decades. He expressed confidence that the festival would inspire the youth, encouraging them to delve deeper into India’s military history and the gallant feats of its armed forces.
The festival aspires to set a new standard for public engagement with military history and heritage, promoting interaction while aligning with the goals of developing the Armed Forces in the 21st century.
A Catalyst for Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India
