Blast at Gaza hospital kills over 500 people: Blame game by Israel and Hamas group

Explosion at Gaza hospital: On the explosion at the  hospital in Gaza, the White House indicated that US President Joe Biden is outraged and deeply saddened.

Explosion at Gaza hospital: Biden was quoted as saying that he was outraged and deeply saddened by the explosion at the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, and the terrible loss of life that resulted. Biden has landed at Tel Aviv, a White House official said.

Gaza, 18 Oct (City Times): Explosion at Gaza hospital: A powerful explosion shook al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City, where several injured persons and other Palestinians were seeking refuge on Tuesday. The Health Ministry said that hundreds of people lost their lives in the explosion.

Hamas attributes incident to Israeli airstrike

 While Hamas attributed the incident to an Israeli airstrike, the Israeli military pointed to a rocket that had been misfired by Palestinian militants as the cause.

On the explosion at the  hospital in Gaza, the White House indicated that US President Joe Biden is outraged and deeply saddened.

Hamas calls hospital blast a horrific massacre

Hamas called Tuesday’s hospital blast a horrific massacre, saying it was caused by an Israeli strike.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza City targeted the residence of Ismail Haniyeh, the senior political figure of Hamas, resulting in deaths of at least 14 individuals. 

Ismail Haniyeh is primarily located in Doha, Qatar, but his family resides in Gaza City. Hamas did not disclose the identities of the casualties.

Blinken offers condolences over deadly blast

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas to offer condolences over a deadly blast at a Gaza hospital. He also  voiced support for Palestinians’ legitimate aspirations, the State Department said on Wednesday.

Doctors perform surgery on hospital floors without anaesthesia

Doctors in Gaza City performed surgery on hospital floors, often without anaesthesia, in a desperate bid to save badly wounded victims of a massive blast that killed hundreds of Palestinians sheltering in a nearby hospital .

The Hamas militant group blamed the blast on an Israeli airstrike, while the Israeli military blamed a rocket misfired by other Palestinian militants. At least 500 people were killed, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said.
