Chemical tanker fire on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, 4 dead; 3 injured

Two bike riders passing under the flyover singe due to fire

Mumbai,13 June (City Times): A chemical tanker overturned on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Tuesday, causing it to catch fire. 4 people died in the accident, while 3 are injured. The incident is of a flyover at Khandala bypass position at 12 noon. According to reports, the entire tanker was gutted in few minutes. The chemical coming out of it was falling till the bottom of the flyover. The fire spread wherever the chemical dropped.

During the accident, two people riding in a tanker and two bike riders passing under the flyover came under fire. Due to which he died. Some vehicles under the flyover have also come under fire. The injured have been admitted to Pavana Hospital in Somatne.

Traffic going to Mumbai and Pune was completely stopped after the incident. Due to this, there was a queue of vehicles for several kilometers. Police called the firefighter after getting information about the incident. The fire has been brought under control.
