Cow Vigilante Monu Manesar Accused in the Murder of Nasir and Junaid

Monu Manesar gained notoriety due to his involvement in the murder case of two Muslim men, Nasir (27) and Junaid (35), in February. The charred bodies of these cousins were discovered in a vehicle in Haryana’s Bhiwani on February 16, leading to a massive outcry.

He was booked as one of the key accused in this case and has faced scrutiny for his alleged role in their brutal killing. The Rajasthan Police filed a chargesheet in May, officially naming Monu Manesar as an accused in the case.

Cow Vigilante Monu Manesar Detention Over Alleged Inflammatory Social Media Posts

Haryana Police detained Monu Manesar on allegations of sharing “objectionable and inflammatory” posts on social media platforms. These posts were reportedly made under a fake identity. Authorities began investigating these posts after communal violence erupted in Nuh, Haryana, on July 31.

A spokesperson from the police department stated that they had been actively monitoring social media for provocative content following the violent incidents. During this monitoring process, they identified a person responsible for posting objectionable content and subsequently conducted raids to apprehend the individual. This person turned out to be Monu Manesar, who had been using a fictitious name to disseminate such posts.

Monu Manesar’s name had also surfaced in connection with the recent communal violence in Nuh. Some of his social media posts, in which he pledged participation in a religious yatra led by the VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad) and Bajrang Dal, were perceived as incendiary and contributed to tensions between different communities.

Cow Vigilante Monu Manesar : Another Murder Case Linked to Violence in Nuh

In addition to his involvement in the Nasir and Junaid murder case and the allegations related to his social media posts, Monu Manesar was also named in another murder case associated with the violence in Nuh. However, this particular complaint did not progress into an FIR (First Information Report) because the police determined that the victim had succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident rather than a criminal act.

The decision to transfer Monu Manesar to the custody of the Rajasthan Police, who are investigating his role in the Nasir and Junaid murder case, is contingent on court orders. While he remains in detention, further investigations are ongoing into his alleged involvement in the dissemination of inflammatory content on social media.

This development underscores the complex and multifaceted nature of the legal proceedings involving Monu Manesar, whose actions have sparked controversy and legal action in various cases, including those related to cow vigilantism, communal violence, and social media posts.

As the legal process unfolds, it remains to be seen how these allegations will be substantiated and whether Monu Manesar will face charges and potential consequences for his actions in the murder case and social media postings.

Haryana CM Khattar’s Statement on Manesar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made a statement in August, asserting that the Rajasthan Police was actively searching for Monu Manesar. He clarified that they did not possess information regarding his current whereabouts and emphasized that the Rajasthan Police had the freedom to take action against him. Khattar also expressed his government’s readiness to provide any necessary assistance to the Rajasthan Police in their efforts to apprehend Manesar.
