Enhancing Security and Cooperation: Insights into India-Nepal Bilateral Diplomacy (Rashtriya Raksha University)
Gandhinagar, 20 Oct (City Times) : The Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) recently hosted a grand valedictory function to commemorate the successful training of Nepal Police Personnel under the ITEC Training Programme. The training, which spanned four weeks for VIP Security and two weeks for Financial Fraud Investigation, was a significant milestone in strengthening the bilateral ties between India and Nepal.
The valedictory function took place on 20th October 2023 at the Rashtriya Raksha University campus and was graced by distinguished dignitaries. H.E. Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Nepal, was the esteemed Chief Guest, and Mr. Uma Prasad Chaturvedi (SSP/Counsellor), Embassy of Nepal, India, joined as the Special Guest.
The training program was divided into two crucial segments:
- VIP Security Training (Four Weeks) Conducted by the School of Internal Security and Police Administration at RRU, the VIP Security Training provided comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to enhance the security of important dignitaries and VIPs. The rigorous training equipped the Nepal Police Personnel with the tools necessary to handle complex security challenges effectively.
- Financial Fraud Investigation (Two Weeks) This training was led by the School of Forensics, Risk Management, and National Security at RRU. It focused on the investigation and prevention of financial fraud, helping the participants develop expertise in identifying and addressing financial crimes.
A total of 30 officers from Nepal successfully completed these intensive training programs, demonstrating their dedication and commitment to upholding law and order and safeguarding the financial sector. Their achievement is a testament to the outstanding quality of training provided at Rashtriya Raksha University.
As a special highlight of the valedictory function, H.E. Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, the Chief Guest, delivered a captivating lecture on the topic, ‘Cultivating Bilateral Ties: Exploring the Dynamics of the India-Nepal Relationship.’ His insightful talk shed light on the importance of strong diplomatic relations from the historic times and emphasized on the mutual cooperation and understanding of the two nations.
The valedictory function was a joyous occasion filled with pride and camaraderie, as both the participants and the university staff celebrated the successful completion of the training programs.
