Kochi,28 November (City Times): Kerala Kollam Kidnapping Case: In a heart-wrenching incident that gripped the city of Kollam, a six-year-old girl, Abigail Sara Reji, was abducted from Oyoor, only to be found by the police after a relentless 20-hour search. The young girl was discovered in an abandoned state at Asramam Maidan, thanks to the alertness of local residents who promptly informed the authorities.

The harrowing incident unfolded on Maruthanampally Road near Oyoor at around 4:45 pm on Monday. Abigail was walking to her tuition classes alongside her eight-year-old brother when a group of abductors, suspected to be four in number, snatched her into a white sedan. Despite her brother’s attempts to intervene, the abductors callously pushed him aside and sped away with the young girl.
The police, acting swiftly, initiated a massive search operation, focusing on the distinctive white Maruti Swift car used by the abductors. Intensive efforts were underway to trace the vehicle, and CCTV footage from homes was examined to aid the investigation.

In a shocking turn of events, the abductors demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh for the safe release of Abigail. A call was made to the family, creating further distress and urgency in the situation. Fortunately, the police managed to track the phone used by the gang to a shop in Parippally, approximately 15 kilometers from Pooyappally.
After almost 20 hours of anxiety and uncertainty, local residents discovered Abigail in an abandoned state at Asramam Maidan, an area commonly used by driving schools for practice. The police promptly shifted her to Kollam Commissioner Office, and she is scheduled for a thorough medical check-up.
