
Coimbatore – Bengaluru Vande Bharat : Two New Vande Bharat Express services to be introduced in Southern Railway Coimbatore Jn – Bengaluru Cantonment – Coimbatore Jn Vande Bharat & Mangaluru Central – Madgaon – Mangaluru Central Vande Bharat Trains
(Coimbatore – Bengaluru Vande Bharat) : Chennai, 29 Dec (City Times) : Narendra Modi, Prime Minister will visit Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on 30th December, 2023. Prime Minister will inaugurate the redeveloped Ayodhya Railway Station, flag off two new Amrit Bharat trains and six Vande Bharat trains besides inaugurating a host of rail projects for Uttar Pradesh.

Two new Vande Bharat Trains for SR
Of the six Vande Bharat Trains flagged off by Prime Minister 30th December 2023, two new Vande Bharat services will be dealt by Southern Railway, namely, Coimbatore Jn – Bengaluru Cantonment – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express and Mangaluru Central – Madgaon – Mangaluru Central Vande Bharat Express services.
Coimbatore Jn – Bengaluru Cantt. – Coimbatore Jn Vande Bharat Express
The state of Tamil Nadu will get its fifth Vande Bharat service with the introduction of
Coimbatore – Bengaluru Cantt. – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express. Connecting the ‘Manchester of South India’ Coimbatore, with the Cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru, this new Vande Bharat Express is the second Vande Bharat connecting the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the other one being Chennai – Mysuru Vande Bharat service running successfully since November 2022. The new Vande Bharat train will become the fastest train service in Bengaluru– Coimbatore sector covering the distance of 380 Kms between the cities in 6 hours 20 minutes between Coimbatore- Bengaluru Cantt and in 6 hours 30 minutes in the return direction.
The new Vande Bharat will benefit Students, IT professionals, business class travelers, especially from various textile hubs in and around the cities of Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Industrial units in Dharmapuri and Hosur and IT hubs in the city of Bengaluru.

Detailed Timings of Train No. 02642 Coimbatore – Bengaluru Cantt. Inaugural Special Vande Bharat Train
Railway Board has approved the introduction of Train No.20642 / 20641 Coimbatore Jn – Bengaluru Cantonment – Coimbatore Jn (Except on Thursdays) Vande Bharat Express Trains.
The Inaugural Train will run as a Special Service (Train No. 02642) from Coimbatore Jn around 11.00 hrs of 30th December 2023 (tomorrow).

Mangaluru Central – Madgaon Vande Bharat Express
The new Vande Bharat service connects Mangaluru, the coastal city of Karnataka, with Madgaon , the commercial capital of Goa. The new Vande Bharat service runs via Karwar, the beautiful port town of Karnataka, Udupi, known for the famed Lord Krishna Temple to reach the adorable tourist hotspot Madgaon in Goa. As Goa is a popular tourist destination, and this new Vande Bharat service will attract more tourists from Karnataka and Kerala to explore Goa’s attractions, boosting tourism in the region. The service will also benefit businessmen, students and IT Professionals traveling between the cities.

Detailed Timings of Train No. 02646 Mangaluru Central – Madgaon Inaugural Special Vande Bharat Train
Railway Board has approved the introduction of Train No.20646 / 20645 Mangaluru Central – Madgaon (Except on Thursdays) Vande Bharat Express Trains.
The Inaugural Train will run as a Special Service (Train No. 02646) from Mangaluru around 11.00 hrs of 30th December 2023.

Amrit Bharat Trains
Shri Narendra Modi. Hon’ble Prime Minister will flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains will be flagged offon 30th December 2023 from Ayodhya. he trains will run between Darbhanga in Bihar and Anand Vihar in Delhi via Ayodhya, Malda Town in West Bengal and Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus (SMVT) in Bengaluru.
Further, public representatives, rail users, school/college students and general public have been invited to accord a warm reception to the inaugural special new Amrit Bharat trains at all the enroute stations. The inaugural special service between Malda Town – SMVT Bengaluru will be given a warm reception as it arrives at Southern Railway stations of Katpadi (around15.35 hrs of 1st January 2023) and Jolarpettai (around 17.40 hrs of 1st January 2023).
Features of Amrit Bharat Trains
Amrit Bharat Express trains will serve as superfast express services for intercity travel. The train set is a ‘Make in India’ innovation of Indian Railways.The following are the noteworthy features of the new Amrit Bharat Trains :
Amrit Bharat Trains with Semi-Coupler Technology:
- Trains equipped with semi-coupler technology ensure a smooth, jerk-free journey for passengers.
- The maximum speed of these trains is an impressive 130 Km, enhancing travel efficiency.
Innovative Push-Pull Approach:
- The adoption of a push-pull approach offers a unique combination of speed, efficiency, comfort, and affordability for passengers.
- This approach contributes to better acceleration and deceleration, saving time especially at bridges, curves, and other areas with restricted speed requirements.
Enhanced Features for Passenger Comfort:
- Horizontal sliding windows provide an added level of comfort for passengers.
- Dust-sealed wider gangways contribute to a cleaner and more comfortable travel environment.
- The presence of an aerosol-based fire suppression system in toilets and electrical cubicles enhances safety measures on board.
- Emergency disaster management light and floor guide fluorescent strips further contribute to passenger safety.
Sealed Gangway for Safety and Comfort:
- Coaches feature a sealed gangway, ensuring a safe transition between coaches.
- This sealed gangway also serves to reduce noise and vibrations during the journey.
The Amrit Bharat Express trains will have a composition of 22 Non-AC coaches with the configuration 02 Second class luggage Rake (SLRD), 08 General seating coach (GS) and 12 Sleeper class coach (SCN). The trains have been planned to operate as a day-night express service, catering to the demand of travel between Large cities and small towns.
The Push-Pull Locomotives (WAP-5) are being manufactured at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) Chittaranjan, one of the largest locomotive manufacturing units in India, and the coaches are being produced by Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, the World’s Largest Railway Passenger Rolling Stock manufacturer. The collaborative effort of the Production units of Indian Railways will ensure that both the driving engine and the passenger compartment are crafted with precision and provide efficient service.
