New Delhi,15 July(City Times): In a remarkable display of academic excellence, the results of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2023 have been announced, revealing an astounding achievement by 22,000 candidates who secured a perfect 100 percentile score. With over 14.99 lakh students registering for CUET-UG this year, the examination witnessed an impressive surge in participation. The extended exam schedule, revised answer key, and the normalization process contributed to this significant milestone, showcasing the inclusive nature and rigorous evaluation of CUET-UG.

The Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2023 results were declared on July 15. A remarkable number of 22,000 candidates achieved a perfect score of 100 percentile, showcasing their exceptional performance in the examination. Over 14.99 lakh students had registered for CUET-UG this year, indicating a significant rise compared to previous years. Exam Schedule Extension and Answer Key Revision

CUET-UG, which commenced on May 21, was originally intended to conclude on May 31. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the examination continued until June 23. The provisional answer key was initially released on June 29 but was later revised and re-published on July 3 due to errors pointed out by students. A subsequent revised answer key was released on July 12 after removing 411 questions. The announcement of results by July 15 was confirmed by the UGC chief.

Exam Statistics and Normalized Scoring Process

Over 19.2 lakh candidates appeared for the CUET-UG 2023 examination, out of the total 28 lakh applicants. A detailed breakdown reveals that a total of 1,496,796 unique candidates registered for the examination, with 383,778 being absent. The normalizing process involves three variables: the candidate’s raw score (A), the total number of candidates with equal or lower scores (B), and the total number of candidates in the session (C). Category-wise Registration and Attendance Figures

CUET-UG 2023 witnessed category-wise registrations and attendance as follows: EWS – 53,219, General/Unreserved – 5,13,155, OBC-NCL – 3,80,784, SC – 1,15,215, and ST – 53,645. These numbers provide insights into the diverse representation among the candidates who participated in the examination, further emphasizing the inclusive nature of the test and the range of opportunities it offers.
