PM Modi Claims ‘INDIA Wants To Finish Sanatana Dharma : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a scathing attack on the INDIA alliance, alleging that they pose a severe threat to ‘Sanatana Dharma’ and, by extension, the culture and values of the nation.

Bhopal, 13 September(City Times): PM Modi Claims ‘INDIA Wants To Finish Sanatana Dharma: In a passionate speech during a public rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced strong concerns about the INDIA bloc allegedly posing a severe threat to ‘Sanatana Dharma,’ a cornerstone of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage. This controversy was ignited by Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks about the “eradication of Sanatana Dharma.” PM Modi had previously called on his ministers to formulate a “proper response” to these statements.

The controversy ignited after Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin made a remark about “eradicating Sanatana Dharma,” prompting a call from PM Modi for a “fitting response” from his ministers.

A few groups are working to divide the country: PM Modi

During his address, PM Modi stated, “A few groups are working to divide the country and society… They have come together to form an INDI alliance. They have also decided on a hidden agenda to attack India’s culture. The INDIA alliance has come with a resolution to end ‘Sanatan’ culture.”

The Prime Minister’s comments have further fuelled the ongoing debate about the role of culture and religion in Indian politics and society.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the INDIA alliance, accusing them of harbouring intentions to dismantle the revered ‘Sanatana Dharma,’ which he asserted has been a wellspring of inspiration for many generations. He denounced the call for the “eradication of Sanatana Dharma,” stressing that such sentiments must not go unchallenged.

Prime Minister Calls for Vigilance Against Growing Threat

PM Modi issued a stern warning, cautioning that today’s open targeting of Sanatana traditions could escalate into more significant challenges in the future. He called upon all ‘Sanatanis’ and those who cherish their country to remain vigilant. He emphasized the need to unite and deter individuals with such intentions.

PM Modi’s Scathing Remarks at a Public Rally

During a public rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district, PM Modi accused the Opposition, particularly the ‘ghamandia’ alliance, of harbouring intentions to dismantle ‘Sanatana Dharma’ and India’s cultural fabric. He alleged that certain groups within this alliance had a hidden agenda aimed at undermining the age-old traditions and values that form the bedrock of Indian society.

A Tradition Under Siege

PM Modi’s criticism of the INDIA alliance centred on their alleged determination to destroy the ‘Sanatana’ tradition, which he contended had been a profound source of inspiration for countless generations. He vehemently opposed the call for the “eradication of Sanatana Dharma,” asserting that it had crossed a line that should not be tolerated.

Controversy Over Opposition Leaders’ Remarks

The controversy was initially sparked by DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who likened Sanatana Dharma to diseases like malaria and dengue. The BJP swiftly turned its criticism toward the INDIA alliance, a coalition of 28 opposition parties.

Deep-Rooted ‘Hinduphobia’ Allegations

Further intensifying the debate, DMK’s Lok Sabha MP and former Union minister A Raja compared Sanatana Dharma to diseases such as leprosy and HIV. This prompted the BJP to accuse opposition leaders of suffering from “deep-rooted Hinduphobia.”

Inspiration from Sanatana Culture

PM Modi highlighted how figures like Devi Ahilyabai Holkar and Rani Lakshmibai were inspired by Sanatana culture, which gave them the strength to challenge colonial powers. He also pointed out that Mahatma Gandhi considered Sanatana Dharma essential to his life, with Lord Ram as his lifelong inspiration.

Freedom Fighters’ Connection

The Prime Minister noted that even freedom fighters like Swami Vivekananda and Lokmanya Tilak drew inspiration from Sanatana culture. He mentioned how those who were executed by the British expressed the desire to be reborn in Bharat Ma’s lap, emphasizing the profound influence of Sanatana culture on India’s struggle for independence.

Foundation Stone Laid By Prime Minister Modi for Projects Worth Rs 50,000 Crore

In addition to his statements, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹50,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh, including a petrochemical complex at the Bina Refinery of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. He is also scheduled to visit Chhattisgarh, which is gearing up for elections.

Yogi Adityanath’s Defence of Sanatana Dharma

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rallied in defense of Sanatana Dharma, declaring it as the “Rashtriya” (national) religion of Bharat, resilient against any efforts to erase it by those driven by power. He expressed sorrow that some individuals within Bharat continued to denigrate Sanatana Dharma and its cherished values.

Amidst the escalating controversy, a case was registered against Udhayanidhi Stalin in Maharashtra’s Thane following a complaint related to his remarks on Sanatana Dharma. The complainant alleged that Stalin’s comments had deeply hurt the sentiments and religious feelings of those who follow Sanatana Dharma.
