Pariksha Pe Charcha : PM Modi Urged Parents to Refrain from Creating Undue Pressure

Pariksha Pe Charcha : In a bid to alleviate stress among students preparing for exams, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the seventh edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, urged parents to refrain from creating undue pressure. The PM emphasized the harmful effects of what he termed as a “running commentary” that involves comparing students with their peers or siblings, underlining its negative impact on a child’s future.

PM Modi Encourages Incremental Study Approach

Recognizing the self-imposed pressure faced by students, PM Modi advised adopting a balanced approach to studying. He suggested avoiding extreme schedules, like waking up at 4 am and studying until 11 pm, which may lead to burnout. The PM highlighted the importance of gradual progress and not stretching one’s capabilities beyond their limits.

During the interactive session, PM Modi likened the program to an “exam” for himself, as he addressed questions from students and teachers across the country. He shared insights on handling pressure, emphasizing the need to become resilient and capable of managing various challenges that life throws.

Addressing concerns about peer pressure and competition, PM Modi acknowledged the necessity of healthy competition in life. This year’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ took on a town hall format at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital, providing a unique setting for interaction. Special guests included two students and a teacher from each state and union territory, along with winners of the Kala Utsav. Notably, 100 students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools participated for the first time.

Before his address, PM Modi explored a tech innovation exhibition where students showcased their ideas. He expressed admiration for the youth’s solutions related to land, water, space, and AI. The PM highlighted the importance of understanding the perspectives of the younger generation and their innovative approaches to real-world challenges.

Minister of State for Education, Subhas Sarkar, revealed that the 7th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ recorded a massive 2.26 crore registrations on the MyGov portal. This overwhelming response showcased the extensive enthusiasm among students nationwide to participate in the unique event and engage in a meaningful dialogue with the Prime Minister.
