PM Vishwakarma Scheme : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches Important Scheme For Boosting Artisans and Crafts Persons With ₹13,000 Crores

New Delhi, 17 September (City Times): PM Vishwakarma Scheme : In a significant move to support and uplift artists and crafts persons in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled the ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme. During the launch event, the Prime Minister announced that the Union government is allocating a whopping ₹13,000 crores for this initiative. This scheme aims to be a beacon of hope for artisans and crafts persons across the nation.

Recognizing Vishwakarma Partners

Addressing the audience at the launch ceremony, PM Modi stressed the importance of recognizing and supporting the Vishwakarma partners. He stated, “Today, it is the need of the hour to recognize our Vishwakarma partners and support them in every possible way. Diverse Sectors Covered

Under the ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme, the government has identified 18 different sectors where Vishwakarma partners are actively engaged. These sectors will be the focus of the scheme’s initiatives. Coinciding with the celebration of Vishwakarma Jayanti, PM Modi expressed his warm wishes to the people of India and highlighted the launch of the ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme. Empowering Through Training

Key components of the ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme include the provision of specialized training to Vishwakarma partners, with ₹500 being granted while the training is in progress. Additionally, beneficiaries will receive a Toolkit voucher worth ₹1,500. The government will play a pivotal role in assisting with branding, packaging, and marketing of the products created by these artisans. Access to Low-Interest Loans

PM Modi also emphasized the financial support provided through this scheme. Beneficiaries can access loans of up to ₹3 lakhs without the need for a bank guarantee. Moreover, the interest rates on these loans will be maintained at a low level. As part of this financial support, an initial ₹1 lakh loan will be offered, with the possibility of an additional ₹2 lakhs once the initial loan is repaid.(PM Vishwakarma Scheme)

Conference Tourism Potential

In his address, PM Modi touched upon the burgeoning conference tourism industry. He revealed that globally, the conference tourism industry is valued at over ₹25 lakh crores. More than 32,000 significant exhibitions and expos take place worldwide annually, and India’s participation in this industry is merely 1%. PM Modi shared his vision for India’s role in conference tourism, particularly focusing on Delhi. He stated that facilities like Bharat Mandapam and YashoBhoomi would make Delhi a major hub for conference tourism.
