A Disturbing Tragedy Unfolds :
The Superintendent of Police (SP), Gopal Choudhary, disclosed, “After the tragic demise of the couple, their grieving relatives approached the police, registering a formal complaint at the Basantwara police station. They alleged that the woman had been gang-raped by two men.”
In response to this grievous accusation, a dedicated police team swiftly mobilized, leading to the arrest of both suspects. Notably, one of the accused is a minor, as confirmed by SP Choudhary. (Basti Gang Rape)
A Desperate Act and an Agonizing Loss :
SP Choudhary further elaborated, saying, “We received reports that a husband and his wife had attempted suicide by consuming poison. Concerned locals rushed them to the hospital. Tragically, the husband succumbed to the poison en route to the hospital, while the woman was subsequently transferred to Gorakhpur Medical College for advanced medical care, where she, too, tragically passed away.”
Adding another layer of sorrow to this devastating incident, the couple recorded a video prior to their alleged act of suicide, wherein they explicitly named the individuals they held responsible for their unbearable plight.
