CM Yogi Adityanath’s Tribute on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day and Call for Unity

CM Yogi Adityanath pays homage on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

Lucknow, 14 August(City Times): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh commemorated Partition Horrors Remembrance Day with a solemn tribute, emphasizing the profound impact of India’s partition in 1947. Addressing a gathering at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, CM Yogi highlighted that the division of nation was not merely a division of land but a tragic decision that separated the hearts of humanity. He lamented the loss of millions of lives due to this division and stressed the importance of remembering history to prevent its repetition.

Unity Above Personal Interests:

CM Yogi Adityanath called for unity above personal interests, asserting that the nation must take precedence over affiliations like family, caste, religion, and region. He underscored that personal pursuits should never supersede the collective welfare of the nation. Referring to the continuous infiltration from Pakistan and Bangladesh into India post-division, CM Yogi criticized Pakistan’s lack of learning from history. He pointed out that the outcome of this oversight is evident in Pakistan’s present struggles and the plight of its people.

Lessons from History and Future Vision:

CM Yogi highlighted India’s progress towards unity with a population of 140 crores under the message of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. He contrasted this unity with Pakistan’s predicament, emphasizing how the fertile land of Punjab that went to Pakistan during the division did not prevent its subsequent decline. He reflected on the liberation of Bangladesh from Pakistan’s oppression and expressed admiration for the culture and history of Bengal. CM Yogi also drew parallels between the divided East and West Pakistan and emphasized that division hinders progress.

Power of Unity and Learning from History:

CM Yogi Adityanath underscored the missed opportunity for India to become a global superpower had it remained united after independence. He criticized those who prioritized personal gain and prestige over national unity. Drawing inspiration from nations like Japan, CM Yogi noted their development despite adversity and their focus on the principle of ‘Nation First’. He stated that tragic historical events like division of a country should inspire lessons for a united and prosperous future.

Commemoration and Unity Gathering:

Before the tribute meeting, CM Yogi visited partition-related memorials and engaged with families who experienced the partition’s tragedies. Dignitaries including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Union Minister Kaushal Kishore, and several state officials joined the commemoration. CM Yogi’s address emphasized unity, the importance of history, and the need to learn from past mistakes to shape a stronger and more united India for the future.
